MICHAELA & SCOTT: REAL BRIDE STORY

I met Scott – who everyone calls Brad!- whenever we were in school, I was 17 he was 19 whenever we first got together.

For his 30th birthday, I booked a surprise visit to New York, and he surprised me consequently with a proposal! We got married on 21st August 2021, at Sneaton Castle, inside a big white wedding.

I loved the movie Father from the Bride, so I always knew I wanted a conventional, big white wedding. Minimal color, big white flowers, and fairy lights everywhere were perfect! Although the pandemic made planning more stressful, we'd to cancel 3 times, we've got there ultimately with all of us and good friends.

We visited a wedding fayre in Sheffield to gather ideas. I had no aim of buying a dress at this time but we booked a scheduled appointment at Tickled Pink, in the end, were there, and we never needed a different one!

I knew I wanted a white dress, but I didn't understand what fit or style. The ball gown wedding dress was the very first dress I tried on, although I tried on other ones after to be certain, I kept coming back to it. When I walked out to exhibit my mum, nan, and mother-in-law, all of them cried! The detail around the dress is exquisite, the floral applique and also the deep V front and back are so flattering. I had my heart set on the feeltimes dresses, but I purchased it in blush also it was perfect.

My bridesmaid Becky did my hair making up so I was relaxed, I knew she would sort me out regardless of what. I am excited that I forgot my bouquet n the dressing room! So I walked on the aisle smiling and waving at everyone with my father.

The day ran like clockwork, with the exception that at 5 pm our night entertainment called to cancel! Thankfully our day entertainment was brilliant and stayed through the night, plus they even got everyone within the room standing to sing 'Sweet Caroline' throughout the wedding breakfast!

There are extremely many brilliant moments towards the wedding, I couldn't select a favorite if I tried. My husband surprised me by having a poem rather than a speech that was so thoughtful. My dad's speech was incredible too. Our son would be a part of our ceremony too; he got a marriage ring too also it was so wonderful having in involved in the ceremony.

My advice for future brides is the fact that no matter how much you're prepared, you can't control your day. Roll by using it. Make sure to eat breakfast and rest within the morning before chaos ensues, and take in the whole day. Have fun!

Our photographers were Abbie Lee, a couple of teams, and achieving two of them meant we didn't miss one minute! Our photos, like our day, were perfect.
