SAMANTHA & CHRIS: REAL BRIDE STORY

Your mum spotted your dress first…how fantastic!

She must've known that which you were searching for. Did you have an idea of what style or form of dress you were hoping to find?

Yes, she did, therefore it was really special. She was built with a keen eye for feeltimes dresses too as she also wound up picking a FeelTimes dress to put on on the day using their Mother from the Bride Collection. I nearly went for nearly the exact style I initially thought I would like. I'm quite petite so I was confident from the start I didn't want anything too big. I did put on a ball gown simply to be 100% sure, however, it wasn't for me. I found myself drawing for the more figure-hugging, princess wedding dresses from the beginning and I was certain I wanted lace having a bit of detail. I loved the lace and also the sparkly detailing on the front from the dress and also the beading around the back was different from other things I had tried on.

Did you attempt a lot of dresses on before you decide to find the ONE?

I would say I tried on around 10 dresses as a whole. I tried around the FeelTimes dress inside my first dress shopping appointment and fell deeply in love with the dress then, but because it was the very first time trying on wedding gowns so I decided to put on a few more at another appointment, simply to be sure. Needless to say, none of the other dresses came close and I went back some week later to test it on again before deciding it had been the main one.

Where have you bought your dress from?

I got my dress at feeltimes.com.

Who opted for you to put on dresses?

I had my Mum and my bridesmaids beside me, that was great because they all know me so well therefore the whole experience was good fun, fitting gorgeous dresses together with your girls along with a glass of bubbly…perfect! They were a great help in spotting dresses they thought I may like and It was great to obtain their opinions.

Any strategies for future brides?

Be as organized as possible as early as possible. I found it can make the whole planning process much less stressful and provides you time to concentrate on all the little extra wedding ideas and details that include planning a wedding.

I swore to use a spreadsheet for each little wedding detail and even though it sounds a little regimented it helped me have all my planning info, supplier contacts, etc. in one location for easy reference. I enjoyed all of the planning and also the day itself ran smoothly because of putting in a little little bit of extra work in the early stages, which allowed me to actually relax and relish the lead-up and also the day.

I was relayed through numerous people your day itself passes in a flash, also it does. My advice to future brides is to take time to stand back and take it all in together, in the end, it's you who has put in all from the hard work to arrange your day, so take the time for you to enjoy all your effort. It's great looking around and watching your family and friends enjoying themselves, knowing they all are here that will help you celebrate your day.

Also, your day itself goes so quick so if possible, try to have something nice planned for your day after to alleviate the post-wedding blues! Maybe lunch or BBQ or something like that so you can reminisce concerning the day together with your new hubby and closest family and friends. It's nice to possess something to complete after the buzz from the day itself.
