A Classic English Country Wedding

This may be a wedding of Stevenson. Sophie is a freelance marketer for restaurant and pub groups, and Alexander works in telecoms as a Business Development Manager.

Alexander may everyone as Pickle, as you’ll see throughout this feature! This lovely couple was married on 29 June 2019 in the King's Sutton, Northamptonshire. This was then a marquee reception in nearby Capability Brown landscaped parkland, of a friend.

Sophie and her bridesmaids spent an attractive morning preparing, and also the bridesmaids wore, which Charlotte from then embroidered using their initials. Sophie wore an attractive Italian linen robe, that was embroidered with calligraphy. The bridesmaids wore elegant, bespoke green bridesmaid dresses, made by Charlotte and also the team following a fun design consultation, plus they wore their very own choice of shoes and accessories.

Sophie gifted all of her bridesmaids quite a moon and stars necklace around the morning of the wedding,

"I wanted a romantic outfit, and moved gracefully, therefore we chose silk organza, having a slight train. The sleeves were embroidered with floral artwork developed for our stationery, together with our names and also the date embroidered up each wrist, in calligraphy that featured across our wedding stationery."

"The back would be a V shape right down to the waist, with olive vines embroidered on the edge. It also had pockets, which I kept among my late grandmother's handkerchiefs, in case. It was so magical so that you can wear something so personal, and developed by someone that means a lot to me."

Sophie and Alexander first met via a mutual friend when Sophie was 19, and Alexander was 20 and became engaged on a holiday to New York with friends in February 2018.

"This was ideal for catching me off guard, as I am notoriously tough to surprise. I had simply no idea, before the moment he was on a single knee – and neither did our friends! It was so great so that you can celebrate all weekend together, we dragged it!" Go

Sophie also sourced a really special vintage watch for Alexander; the same model wore and loved by his father for several years, which Sophie found in Milan. With a brand new strap along with a full service, it had been ready to present, and today Alexander and the father have matching watches.

Sophie and Alexander's photographer, as recommended for them by a friend and filmmaker Will. I’m delighted to talk about her beautiful work here, which is full of light and laughter.

"We were built with a pre-wedding shoot, which I couldn't recommend more to future brides, to be photographed isn't something the majority of us are used to, also it helped get to understand her ahead of time."

"By the time of the wedding, it felt like just having another friend within the room. Her style is extremely romantic, capturing all of the special moments. Looking through them after was great – you can miss so much around the day like a couple."

"We are extremely lucky that among our closest friends and usher, Will Warr, is an incredibly talented videographer, and she has filmed some amazing weddings. We didn't want him working at the wedding, but among his guys filmed your day on his behalf, and we couldn't be happier with the result."

After their first dance, Sophie and Alexander both changed outfits for a fun evening of dancing. Sophie's simple, blush pink dress with wide shoulder straps along with a circle skirt was created and produced by Sewn Right, in which she wore a head hairpin personalized together with her new initials. Alexander wore a double-breasted suit of blush pink linen.

"We had DJ after this guitar rock band, who had been very accommodating when at 1 am, we asked him to carry around the party! He's a genuinely cool guy, and great at working with everyone else."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Anything you can do ahead of time, do. The last thing you want to become doing your day before the marriage is tying bows on favors."
