The Role of Pollution License in protecting public health

A pollution license is written official consent from the state pollution control board to start or begin any business that has the potential of generating trade effluents or pollutants. Trade effluents are chemical waste, fly ashes, detergent washing remnants, medical waste, and smoke emis

Any industry has to obtain consent certificates for a pollution license.

  1. Consent to establish: Before starting any business or commencing activities like construction, obtaining official consent to establish a business from the State pollution control board is compulsory. After acquiring consent to establish, any individual can begin the construction or set up a business.

  2. Consent to operate: Once the setup phase is done, the building is ready to function, and owners must acquire official consent to operate from the State control board. This consent allows the individual to start the operations in the building and is valid for five years from the date of obtaining the consent.
